*..2 hands to clap..*

As the cliched saying goes: "It takes 2 hands to clap."
Hence deeming it impossible for 1 hand to produce any sound at all.

What should the other hand do when 1 hand hasn't stopped clapping just yet?

If hand #1 slows down its pace, hand #2 should match its speed to clap in unison; If hand #1 claps more softly, hand #2 should in turn clap more gently.

It isn't because hand #1 has gotten tired and disinterested to keep up with all that clapping, sometimes even hands need breaks just as people need breathing space.

The clapping doesn't have to be maintained at the same speed and intensity at all times. As long as the 2 hands are clapping in unison, there will be rapport and mutual understanding.

As long as there is no deadly silence, that's all that matters. =)
