*..Sunday, happier than expected..*

Just thought I'd type in point form again before I go to sleep.

I figured we have to be thankful and appreciate the little things around us in order to feel happiness from within. I should stop being a pessimist and really take a step back to assimilate the simple joys in life.

- woke up to a thunderstorm this morning. The pitter-patters against the windows, flashes of lightning. The cosy-ness that soothed me back to sleep.

- after a very good sleep, I woke up to yummy brunch cooked by mummy foo--Fish congee, just like the ones at chinese restaurants.

- we stood near the main door, it was Genting-like. The freezing wind so freshening. =)

- went shopping with mummy foo at City Square. Helped her choose clothes and shoes. Been a loooong time since we really went out shopping. Thanks to school and thanks to packed schedules/clashes.

- stocked up on my junk food supplies from NTUC! Cuttlefish, korean salty seaweed and chips!

- had yummy pepper lunch for dinner. Coaxed mummy foo into trying new food and she loved it. HAHA hilarious how she coated almost the whole hotplate with pepper -_-

- talked to slave on msn =) 2 more days to PANDAs!

- talked to carolyn aka 3rd love on msn! =) Awwwww.

- OH AND THE BEST PART IS HERE! I was craving for strawberry fruitare like crazy the past few days and casually mentioned to mummy foo. She went to buy the box of it for me after dinner, whilst I was feeling pek chek sorting out my notes for Rights and Contracts paper just now =)

- Lastly, JUST FOUND OUT THAT TUES' PAPER IS AT 2PM AND NOT 10AM! HO HO HO!!!! =) so thrilled till I can't get myself to sleep.

Okay, overall Sunday's a really nice day.

Can't say the same for Monday though. I can predict it's gonna be lousyyyy already. STUDY STUDY STUDY, burn midnight oil.

Why is life so miserable? I HATE LAW AND CONTRACTS urgh.

This is one of the lousiest Sundays of my holidays. Coincidentally the last Sunday of my holiday before school begins tomorrow, or later (since it's past midnight already). My plan is to stay up as late as possible, to extend my Sunday and postpone Monday's appearance.

Anywayyyyy, as Sunday comes to an end, xq's feeling the Monday blues already.  Though it's not stressful over at the office, but the thought of not having "me" time just brings your mood all down.

Counting down to the next weekend, was a really nice week that passed.

So many things happened this wkend, it's supposed to be study weekend but OH WELLLL. I did everything but study. Very bad, xq.

The hectic past few days, before I forget them.

- had 2 presentations, 1 test in school
- met mole to go to the doc's
- had dinner and supper with mole & slave


Thursday
- final touches and lots of blood-puking worthy occurrences to the final edit
- stayed over at cc's house to do audio post and credits etc.
- COCO SO CUTE. =)


Friday
- Screening at sch for Location Filmmaking projs
- Went to accompany the girls to cut hair
- Met mum for dinner finally, hadn't had dinner with her in weeks
- slept at 7pm cos I didn't sleep the entire previous night.


Saturday
- woke up at 11am in shock.
- met slave after 2 days of non-meeting =)
- ate macs @ heartland mall
- went pasir ris park ride bicycle with slave!
- watched videos on the computer
- nice dinner with mama and papa foo @ SR gardens
- yummy durian dessert with them =)
- stayover with mangosteen juice

- catching up with sleep debt

- breakfast dabao-ed by mama foo
- new pet(s) from mama foo to us!
- a new job, that dropped from the sky again =)

Reality sinks, it's Monday tomorrow.

Just had one of the strangest weekend yet. Where nice things happened and not so nice things happened.

The biggest thing would be, XQ FINALLY CUT HER HAIR AFTER WANTING TO DO SO FOR THE PAST 2 MONTHS!!! =) The head feels so much lighter now, and I feel very much accomplished.

Coming up next would be the nice, simple weekend I had with slave. And the delicious snacks we attacked, tonight's yummy fish maw soup and chilli kangkong dinner, my catching up on precious sleep etc.


DADA IS BACK AT ITS PUNGGOL HOME BTW!! =) I miss hugging her to sleep.

Oh and we saw slave's bro's new kitten aka ROO @ his office today. xq still likes Boots most! Shall sayang her more the next time, cos I had Roo's smell on my fingers today and Boots was very edgy about that.

xq also slept alot this weekend, felt like I've made up enough hours to repay all my sleep debt, but hmmm still feeling tired..

Back to &%&^$& Business presentation slides. Cant wait for 1pm tmr. I think life will be so much more happier with one obstacle down.

*..IPHONE!!!..*

xq phone-napped mummy foo's iphone when she got home, with the intention to help her transfer all her phone contacts one by one. But xq started off with searching for nice apps and downloading everything that caught her eye, only to realize that half of the descriptions are fakessss. PUI. Anyways spent a good 1 hr typing in all the contacts from mum's old hp, only after meddling with her apps for 2 hrs.

Anyways came across this really cool phototaking app. Iron Camera. GO DOWNLOAD DEAR ALL! asked slave to dl already. Muahaha so we can take more boliao pictures when we're bored! =)

Just watched Le Choristes (2004) with slave today on DVD. Borrowed from sch lib for 2 weeks already (and it's overdue by a few days cos I was lazy to walk to the lib to renew). Finally got down to watching it, and it was a good 95 minutes invested.


I loveee musical films.
Well, this isn't really a musical film, but a music-based film or along those lines.

I loveeee films with inspirational teachers in them! Maybe cos one of my dreams is to become a teacher that leaves a mark in students' lives. It's about making a difference, regardless of its extent. Hmm like Freedom Writers too.

I especially loveee films that use MUSIC to inspire, or rather, as a platform to inspire. Or even the use of music to drive the plot forward or as a tool of any form. Like "Music & Lyrics", "Once", films like that.

I lovee shows with a bitter-sweet ending that leaves you tight-chested at the end because it's just so compelling and heartfelt.

Watch "Les Choristes", strong characterization (that every student stands out on their own despite the huge number). VERY NICE!!! XQ LIKE!

It's the 15th day of the lunar new year, aka Chinese Valentine's day! Happy V Day xiaobai (my big wife), laopopo, jac gf and mole gf!! =) And slave! hahaha!! And everyone else!

That marks the end of nice yummy lavish food. CNY isn't my favourite festive season for nothing, it's the food (and angpow) that keeps me yearning for MORE.

And the holiday mood's finally fading, school's workload is kicking in and xq's been starting her engine. HAHA and feeling a little more motivated, though not very. SIANNNNN this semester is boringggggggg.

Besides the library, xq loves going to museums too! There's just soooo many interesting exhibitions and short film screenings at our museums from time to time =) And the best thing? THEY'RE FREE!!!! WOOHOO!! going to National Museum with my wife aka xiaobai (peiwen) later =)

YAY i've never seen Mummies before! Only documentaries and read books about them. Egyptian mummies and pyramids are just about the most mysterious things to me in this world. Slave says I'm suaku to have not seen them before. If it's nice, shall go with him again! HAHA photography trip! =)

*..The 5 Movies I Like..*

Haha just emailed WC, our lecturer, a short description of why we like a particular 5 movies from US/UK. And it made me think about the shows I've watched. How hard it is to choose just 5 shows I REALLY like. i can easily name you the shows I liked, but to rank them, it's really tough. Hmmmmm. I was thinking, maybe I should start a blog with a brief summary (or not) of the films I've watched. AKA like a Film Log, to remind a very forgetful xq about the show I've watched. Usually quite bad at titles.


Hmm xq seems to like shows that make her cry like mad. 3 out of the 5 shows listed here made me cry buckets. TSK.

There's something about "I AM SAM", so moving that I can't help breaking down endlessly in all the 3 times I've watched the show. My favouritest movie, that's something I know for sure.

Anyhows, so begins my 2 days of holidays!!! *cough* I mean weekend. Just submitted the final treatment aka assignment for the summer term module last night. It was torturous, yet fun doing it. You know, the mixed feeling I get when writing long paragraphs. You love it, yet you hate it. New semester begins on 1st Feb (Monday), at least it's a weekend without any HW.

Woohoo meeting xiaobai aka my wife (peiwen) soon for a day of things we haven't done in a long while. Then slave for dinner and DVD!

And it's another happy day tmr.

*..Meet Boots!..*

This is Boots! Slave's 2nd bro's new pet at the studio.


Photo taken by his brother I think, kopped from their FB. HAHA! Slave cat-napped it from AMK yesterday. It's a stray that looks almost too perfect to be one.

It's really amusing and heartwarming seeing grown adults go all soft and fuzzy for the sake of a furry creature. Aww. And it's the first kitty I've ever dared play with and not fear that it'd bite/scratch me or something. Boots is the friendliest cat you'd ever see. Heh heh, like to tickle its tummy!And she'll roll on her back, back and forth. Took some pics of her but shall post it next time.

Today's a happy day. Or should I say it's pets day. 1st it was Boots, then we went to Eastpoint pet shop to exchange for a bigger cage for kitty. The pet shop was filled with endless animals. Cute doggies, hamsters and guinea pigs. Oversized bunnies that are absolutely ugly but amusing to look at. I miss my guinea pigs! Not forgetting, obsessed dog owners who think their dogs are real human babies! LOL.

Tried the new BK burger. Cheesy Bacon Chicken Crisps or whatever. I think I got the combination wrong. It was so-so. But the chicken wings were nice though.

Finally got down to reading the 110 pages of script for Coverage assignment. Feeling super sleepy since then. OH MISERY. I hate giving comments for scripts, cos it's subjective.

Then we changed Ham Ham's stuff and let her swim in a mini tank to bathe her. Okay, not WE. I watched only. HAHAHA!!! but Ham Ham was petrified and there was 7 pieces of shit in the mere 15-20 minutes.

And we had zi char with 1st Bro and GF after that. Super yummy and satisfying meal.

Nothing beats having good food and cuteee animals. Hmmm the only spoiler of the day was Coverage assignment. Okay, back to it. The dreaded feeling. Can't wait for Thursday to come! End of this module.

This weekend, I/we did all sorts of things. A good mix I would say, albeit simple, but every bit felt nice =)

- Booked HK tics for March 20-28th 2010. HK Film Mart is from 22-25th March and there's been a crazy email furore. My 1st time booking air tics myself!




To date, 20 Chapman mates are going! YAY sounds like fun. Can't wait for March, amidst the terrible school term next semester. Gotta find some way to earn money to tide over bad times like this. Hahaha aka holidays that pop up from nowhere and disrupt planned expenditure.

(1) Harold & Kumar (Part 2), was refreshing watching it a 2nd time. made more sense after we watched the Part 1.


(2) Notting Hill. Been wanting to watch this since forever, and never regret watching it. Awwwww, sweet and hilarious. Right down to the supporting casts!


- went to SIFF admin office (at some dodgy place btw! haha!)
- went bukit panjang plaza walked arnd & yummy curry chicken
- ate wanton mee @ LH's house coffeeshop
- brought mama low & friend to vegetarian wholesale shop

- "matchmade" Ham ham with Torti (Slave's bro's hamster). But they're both girls. OOPS. Shall put their cages side by side everydayyyy! At least they seem happier this way with company, or so I think. HAHA! cos his bro don't let us put the hamsters in the same cage. puiiii.

- went market with mama and papa foo
- went fish shop!
- polished 2x piano & 1 guzheng for mama foo
- polished and tuned, changed string for 2 x guitar
- played badminton at long last!!
- got 1 x $30 summon and wrote appeal email to HDB
- slave cooked dinner for the Lows! *pats head*
- burned Cao Ge's CD for Slave's van
- emailed 289367252 KINO invites (ok number is exaggerated lol) It's scary when my inbox looks like that.


WOOHOO, can't wait for next weekend. 5 more daysssss =) I guess there's nothing wrong looking forward to the end of week each week.

Exciting, there's gonna be seminars and screenings filling schedules in the weeks to come =) FSV Alumni Chapter Events, SMU Film Fest, Substation and what-nots.

And I still haven't watch AVATAR & Sherlock Holmes. Hahaha terribleeee.

*..Weekends always seem so short..*

Hello world!

there goes the 1st weekend of 2010. I guess when school starts, weekends become more precious once again. More new schedules to get used to the coming week, before I get accustomed to my new life in 2010 and get a job or something.

xq's newest resolution is...TO BE FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT BY END OF 2010!!! yes I know I already have 21 resolutions in my previous entry, so that makes 22. HAHA!

Khalil Fong's "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You". I actually liked the concept of the MTV alot...hmm the graduation gowns and all...But the dance floor/prom night part is such a spoiler...CHEESYYY! xq's got a fetish with graduation gowns...


I realize I like to stay indoors alot these days. The only times I'm out is when I'm out to school, or running errands with slave/mum. A sign of old age. A fear of crowds. Had a nice weekend catching up on sleep, running errands, watching tv, and falling in love with the television set all over again.

*jolts back to reality* Time for homework now and it's back to school tmr. Sigh. MONDAY BLUEEEES. Class has been changed to 10am instead of 2pm. Byebye late nights!

Had DVD Marathon with slave yesterday and finally watched "Handsome Suit", was a really hilarious, yet meaningful theme. Hmmm feel like doing up a blog specially for films after I've watched them! For memory's sake, cos I have really bad memory when it comes to shows I've watched.

2nd show was something that Cecilia chin recommended! She said the songs were really nice and sure they were! Stuck in our minds. =)

"Once" was really sweet too. The Cinema Verite style for almost half the film or more kinda suited the film. Here's the main theme song: "Falling Slowly" by Glen Hansard. Pretty guitar and piano duet by the 2 leads of the show.

Feeling as miserable as can be now.

Sighssssss. 1 more day to exams and I haven't studied a line. Just spent an hour or 2 downloading everything and arranging my notes in order. They must be sequential. Must write a to-study list too, so I can check against them when I'm done (if I ever can be done). It's times like this that my OCD gets really bad. Obsessive Compulsively seeks the NEED for everything to be in order, else I'll feel ansty as can be.

But since things aren't reallyyy in order, xq feels like she can't sleep as yet. Finally pia finish all my assignments today. (nearly all). Hopefully I have the energy to hang in there for the next 4 days. Can only pray for wisdom, strength, courage and good memory. Good foresight too, for spotting topics and questions.

Hmmm I better go sleep now. So sleeeeepy, yet each time I sleep I'll get horrid nightmares and wake up feeling more tired than ever.

Wasn't too good a weekend for the piggers. Busy at work and with school.

The good things that came out of saturday? ET emailed us just now that xq's got a complimentary Avatar tic. Hmmm but not too sure if I'll go. Don't feel like going if slave isn't. Some things are just not fun anymore when done alone.

The Sunset Boulevard discussion went on for eternity. We watched and rewatched, rewinded the film like mad, I could memorize almost every line/scene after that. Thought I'd end by 1030pm, made slave wait really long to have dinner till he had gastric. Ended up dabao-ing Punggol Nasi Lemak to Mano's void deck.

Feeling so inadequate now in every corner of my life. To the extent of feeling satiated at the very instance of ticking my to-do list items. My only joy at the moment.

I wish I were free-er the coming week. Then I could be around to help slave pack his new room, and things wouldn't be too agonizing when done together.

I wish...the week ahead would proceed greatttttttt, for the piggers. At work and at school.

And a side-note to thank mummy foo for being ever so fantastic a mum can ever be. =)

*..Road Trip..*

Today, we had an impromptu road trip to JB with papa and mama foo!
Drove bro's car in.
Apart from the massive jamssssss, everything else were pretty niceeee. Especially yummy seafood dinner we chanced upon the venue whilst randomly finding our way.

First times are always the nicest.
Simply because there isn't any pre-requisites to make comparisons with.

Our 1st road trip =)
Moreeee to comeeeee!! KL after annoying Chapman exams end on the 17th Dec!
Sigh it's gonna be a gruelling 11 more days.

The thought of the amount of pending work, makes me wanna drop dead right this moment. How do you finish all of that and have sufficient time to finish revising/memorizing/understanding the hideous amount of information for 4 of the modules?

Shall keep the thinking for tmr.

*..Poor little brown dog..*

Just got home and was all ready to crash into the bed.
At least that was what I'd anticipated on the way home.

But just a moment ago, saw a pitiful-looking dog loitering around at the garden below my house. It was light brown with a wet look, probably didn't dry too well from the rain. I kinda followed behind it, wondering if it's a stray or a lost pet. Concluded it could be the latter from its actions and expression.

It walked hesitantly in a straight route for about 100 metres, then pranced up and down the walkway, sniffling the ground along the sides. Then it walked to and fro, looking dumbfounded. Finally the dog stopped and stoned at one spot, its head wandering around at varying directions, as if trying to recall the route home.

Sigh if only there were something I could do to help the dog find its way home. Feel quite sad for her now, hope she returns home safely to her master! It's super cold out there today.

Soooo sleeepy now, got to wake up a few hours later though. IKEA with mama low and slave later! I love IKEA, especially the wings!!! the last time we went there on august 10th, the wings were SOLD OUT -_- What's IKEA without its wings...cheyyyy!

Anyways! was an interesting day today. Had a nice time drifting in and out of sleep, returning sleep debts all the way till 6pm. Intercut with effective msn conversations with friends I haven't spoken to in a looong while properly. Like charlyn, mimi yeo, joanne-marie and "xq".

Then, met slave @ farrer park after work and we had a mad rush going back to his home for dinner, packing shoot's stuff and going for yg's shoot. Slave had to help 2nd bro out as they were short-handed and xq tagged along cos long time nv go shoot. HAHAHA was pretty enjoyable cos I spent half the time laughing at the casts and dialogues. Seems an interesting show after "18g of Love". JIAYOUUUUU!!!

Ended at 1plus am. Slave went home for a nap, but I couldn't fall asleep the whole time (kudos to the effective afternoon naps). Went JB about 415am and we were back in sg by 530am. Hadn't been in there for several years. Pump petrol and wash cars (xiao huang and bahbu, belonging to slave's big bro and slave respectively). Bahbu is sparkling clean now!! After spending a hideous 2 weeks at the car workshop and looking superbly dusty. Just got Bahbu back last night, ALAS. Looking good and engine going strong!! Be good to master, Bahbu! =)

Just reached home at 7am, and okay, I just spent time wasted typing this. I NEED TO SLEEPPPP, like now.

Today's a good day. Today's friday by the way, cos I haven't slept so it's not yet saturday. Today I did 3 things (catch up with friends, shoot, go jb) that I haven't done and had been wanting to do for the longest time.

For once, Friday felt like Saturday on Hari Raya Haji.
And it was really a nice feeling that we seldom got to experience.

Friday: was spent getting well cos slave & I were both kinda ill. Watched "V for Vendetta", awesome showwww. To think it was sitting in my external drive for at least a year. Comic book day, nice rainy weather to sleep in, yummy dinner by mama foo, and Threadless had a storewide $9 sale! Can't wait for the shirts to be in!

heh BLUE BLUE looks as though he's frowning due to the crease on his forehead. So slave frowned to imitate him.


hahaha!!!! ok I was bored.



Saturday: The day didn't start off well at home, deja vu. Slept the whole day. Met slave after he ended shoot @ Marina Square. Along with lh, charm, khai, soundman (suddenly forgot his name), we went Suntec Kbox! Sobs it's gonna close down for good on 6th dec. Have to find a better place with cheap deal. Met a kbox staff with jiaobin and world class rudeness.

WE BOUGHT PINK PINK TOO! gf for BLUEBLUE. =)



Sunday: xq had a really bad tummyache the night before, so it was a sickly day somewhat. Slave had a dental appt! someone's teeth really clean now. We had to eat soft foods after that to cater to his aching teeth. Watched macross. Slept alotttt, cos of laziness. Did the laundry with slave since mama low's away in KL. And we folded a gigantic pile of clothes into neat stacks in the living room. Couldn't stand leaving them in piles of mess. OCD! Hung the new batch of SMELLY clothes to dry! Headed for dinner at Lot 1 CCK. Walked around abit. Then pasar malam at causway point, before boarding the bus at woodlands interchange.

Due to xq's poor memory, I've decided to summarize my days in some form or other. So don't mind the disorganized post! it's for my own recollection!

Sigh and as all happy things come to an end, it's now time for the sad part. HOMEWORK TIME. Got to think of a brand new script idea for my final script for screenwriting module. nana (lecturer) says my previous one would work better for Intermediate screenwriting next sem or something.

OH MISERYYYYY. The same misery every monday. hahaha!! jiayou xq!

Well we're down to 2 more academic weeks, 1 more exam weeks...then it's hols for a short 2 weeks. Better than nothing!
