*..Times like this, I wanna smash my Macbook..*

So I've been doing this for 2-3 days and giving up on it here and there, but I had to finish it by hook or by crook tonight for a film submission that has annoying A2 Specifications. But my original poster isn't of that huge a resolution, hence I had to try to fill up the empty space to my best ability.

Still sucks, but really at my wits' end as to how to do up a nice proper A2 size banner with all my low res screenshots.

DEAR MACBOOK, YOU SUCK!

With each click I make on photoshop, the colour wheel appears for FOREVER. What a waste of my life. It's almost 6am now, the sun's gonna rise.

Before I set off for a briefing for Sat's shoot tmr, I need to get the following done.

3 x invoices
1 x quotation
send emails

PLEASE KILL ME NOW, all that paperwork. zzzzz.

On a lighter note, when the cheques come in (I WONDER WHEN!!! *yawn* *taps feet*) I can buy a new macbook pro!! WOO!!!! But I will still love my Macbook for its sentimental value, or at least try to as much as I can. For it's been through thick and thin with me through all the major milestones in my life since 2007.

On a sidenote, just for the sake of showing off my neatly arranged and fresh new outlook of my macbook's desk top, HERE'S A PICTURE OF IT!

Spent about 15 minutes clearing my entire desktop of cluttered mess created over the holidays, created new folders for the brand new modules for the brand new semester and arranged the folders in the most visually comforting manner to my OCD eyes as possible.

*OCD: Obsessive Compulsion Disorder.

This new semester, xq is adamant to turn over new leaf! Set a new aim of being early/on time for school every single day, and so far I've been good.

2nd aim is to be a more hardworking student and do my best for the scary semester ahead. *emo* HANG IN THERE XQ! It will all be over in May 2011!

Skype is what occupies our night hours, we get barely 3 hours of sleep everyday. I MISS THE SAME OLD PEOPLE TOO =( Esp mama and papa foo. And PINK PINK! miss hugging her to sleep each night! 2 more days!!

helloo world. xq is feeling sleepy waiting at canteen 1 for cecilia and jiayun to end Advanced film class. WAH LAU! 640pm already and they're still not out. Must be because of super pitch, their lecturer famous for slamming pitched story ideas. WOOTS. Had mine this morning. Woke up 645am to write the script. Cos mind wasn't working the last 2 days. But visualised all the scenes in my head already on the train to sch yesterday. So today it didn't take me long. From 715-730am. Then on the train from punggol to outram park. From Redhill to dover. On bus from Dover to bus stop before SIM. WOOHOO personal best, took about 45mins for 4.5 pages.

so by the time I reached sch, my brain was very saturated cos I had the show playing in my head whilst scripting it. EEKs quite insecure whenever I'm directing. HAHAHA! but done next week's assignment! Supposed to deliver script next week. But it's done! Now for some touching up. Week 5 shooting. Which means 3 weeks from now.

Feeling really happy now cos IT'S THURSDAY! I finished all my scary classes. Friays are elective classes which are pretty fun. Hmm 10am to 3pm tmr. 3-6pm booked editing suite with the rest of Post Pro people do colour correction and batch capturing. Eew. I want to use FCP leh! =(

on lighter note, after school meeting some friends for yummy dinner! =)

then it's my favourite wkend!!! Going esplanade library do research on saturday. Then plin's church on sunday. Hais, plin's 22nd tmr but I haven't had time to meet her for dinner! =( maybe next week, sorry ah!

okay think they're coming! cecilia and jy! just saw uncle sw and gang, their classmates. DINNERRRR! But kinda bloated now. Downed 3 packs of BEE BEE snacks, 1 aloe vera apple juice whilst waiting. It's 650pm now. omg!

anyhows, repaired my lappie on tues morning before media law. Gotta thank dad for his big help. He drove me to sim lim. =) here's how Macblue looks like now, its original WHITE form. Think I shall leave it as that. Looks better white. Or maybe..IM SO TEMPTED TO BUY THE LEATHER CASING FOR MY MACBOOK. BUT IT'S FIFTY BUCKS? =( see how laaaa. EEEE tempted. But no more blue plastic cover, cos it scratched my bottom of the lappie quite badly. I'm so affected by it I vowed not to use it anymore the moment I took it off.


the screen is soo nice now, better than original form. But my bank account not nice!!! pocket big hole. Like 350 bucks poorer. Oh well better than diversitec, the repair centre for laptops purchased from sch, quotes LCD screens for 1000 bucks!


fulfilled my other wish too! bought my 500GB external drive. So now I have 500 plus 250GB...750GB. Don't ask me why I need so much. HAHA shiok only la. =)


and I spent my entire tuesday night transferring 200 GBs of stuffs to the 500GB cos the former has an error and I need to reformat it. Think it took me tonnes of hours, I just left it on overnight!


what I did whilst waiting for the transfers! Finish the chicken biscuits! must buy more! yah la I eat on my bed. Tsk only.

When gadgets fault or die, they just turn xq into the most emo person on earth. HAHA. Le sigh.

MacBlue's screen has officially been pronounced dead. In the midst of media law lecture yesterday, the desk decided to swing outwards (with no external force)..my hands didn't even touch the table.. Then my lappie went crashing to the ground and bounced off to the step below. OH MY LORD. Dengli passed my laptop back to a very "now-how-should-I-react" xq. Closed my eyes and didn't dare look at it. When I did, here's what greeted me.

I now have no more mood for adium, cos it's so irritating to shift all my windows to the left. Zech was saying my 13.1 inches screen has turned 7 inch. =(

the fateful LT macblue died in. That's tofu drawing on foolscap. Media Law teacher very uptight about chattering in class, so we had a message board and kept disturbing cecilia! HEH HEH. And disturbing each other with word puzzles.


it's 725am now. Tsk I actually slept from 11pm till 630am this morning. Sorry lam sister! Was supposed to be a nap, then wake up discuss documentary production interview with him, and complete my afp script. But I couldn't wake up.

Been a long day 1 of Week 2 at school. Getting the hang of all these hectic-ness. Trying to squeeze some time out so I could meet plin for her 22nd, and occasionally some friends..but sigh the schedules are just so tight...very hard to plan! =( Weekend free only. Before filming begins.

515-630pm: Met lecturer advisor again with grp, followed by grp discussion

WOOhoo like 9am till 630pm without a single break. Got to get used to it! And there's still so much left undone.

sometimes, it's really all about choosing quality over quantity. This weekend been good, I've sorted out my thoughts. Talked things through and gained insight in the process of voicing thoughts, listening and some self-talk. Thanks gina, yating, lam sister, jerry, uncle sw, cecilia, dengli, peiwen, dexian, toufyyy, caleb, mimi yeo, bq, fionna for listening to grouses here and there. It made my week better.

Yay, feeling muchly liberated now. =) A new week awaits.

Yes, I'm on youtube frenzy once again. The 3rd time this holidays. Suddenly craved to watch SPOP on youtube, so searched for videos. And came across this song composition entry for SPOP, which I managed to catch on television some months ago by chance. Teresa (campus superstar) sang on screen, but the female composer kinda left an impression on me.

She's like 27 this year, but looks really young. There's something about the way she plays and her music, that sucks me in. ARGHHH NOW ON REPEAT MODE. =) This is so inspiring cos I haven't touched my piano in 45625278 years. Since the song I composed for non fiction production documentary. Erm it wasn't much of a song, more of a tune. OKAY I MUST TRY MY BEST!!! and wow she's in Berklee College of Music. And she has a video of her playing another mando pop song composition on guitar. Quite pretty too. Nice voice. Gee, why isn't she famous yet?!?! I'll be her avid fan. People should learn to appreciate talents like such, not empty vessels who look good on the outside but lack the talent/ability to justify their popularity.

How nice if I could be half as good as her some day.

I was having my dinner and watching channel 8 news, talking to mimi yeo as well. Then the newscaster mentioned that NTU has decided to turn the double rooms in the halls to triple rooms. And students were protesting. But reflected in the interviews.

Guy A: "3 people in a room? it's like an army bunk! not a hostel!"

so i got reminded of mimi yeo aka enthu hall stayer of NTU. High ranking JCRC "official" don't play play okay! HAHA!!! she who stayed in hall all her uni life and have the privilege of nice xq entertaining her all day long. (Awww I know you're touched!) So I immediately told mimi what was on the news and she mentioned that it's the biggest talk in hall. Facebook protests, youtube also have a video.

AND THE LAST 2 HRS OF OFFICE TIME, I WAS USING MY LAPTOP BATT! PLUGGED OUT THE POWER ADAPTOR. Gee, else I'd have like 6 hours, enough to last me the night.

So now....I feel like there's a bomb ticking buy....GONNA EXPLODE ANY MOMENT! =( when it does, xq will vanish from internet world. Cos cannot stand using windows xp. HAHA was using for 2 hrs just now, and cannot take it. Bro's laptop. Adium rocks my socks!

My bro's been asking me to get internship with their media department too. But wth!! xq catches no ball when it comes to financial/economic/political issues.

hellooo world. Had wanted to spam this space tonight cos was kinda MIA the prev weeks, and overflooding my MacBlue with photos waitin to be posted up.

BUT AT 1030PM, WHILST TALKIN TO MIMI HALFWAY ONLINEEEEE, my internet died on me. And I couldn't reconnect! tried till I dozed off, and woke up at 2 plus. Still can't connect. Gave up and looked through my lappie for entertainment.

Fruitful though! Found this program called Comic Life, nice ah! Can create comic strips there, with fixed templates and bubbles. Hmm, new photo collage idea! Just drag and drop. No need use my old school method of using powerpoint! Played around with it for awhile, and wheee, damn nice! =)

then played with the games in MacBlue. Reversi and tic tac toe. hahaha give up, I played 10 games of reversi and lost to the computer in all the games. ^&%$#$%^#^!!!

Hmm long time no play mastermind. I remember we used to play that in school alot. Post exam days allowed us to bring intellectual games to school. =) and 5 stones! and uno! hais, I miss my PL days!

hmm then bro came home and we both tried to reconnect to the wireless together on separate lappies, communicating thru sms-es. Then I found one source to erm, share.. and I sms-ed to tell bro! So now we're both online! And he's into Simpsons! haha lucky I've ripped one disc from chin hwee for audio post simpsons video analysis the other time. Hmm maybe borrow his series from him some time.

Hmm whitie was seized by apple care centre cos its hard-disk crashed thrice, twice replaced, twice reformatted, finally motherboard crashed. In the last one year, sent to diversitec 4 times, and yah...NEED I MENTION...XQ LOST ALL HER YEAR ONE STUFFS?!!!!! cos it crashed suddenly, and xq has absolutely no habit of backing up her stuffs. Caused me much heartaches and trauma, haha the things in my lappie mean alot to me! =( Like some *coughs* stuffs in my misc folders too. And it's caused my photos to be minimised to an atrociously tiny resolution, some 2000 of them...taken in 2006...so now I have MINI PHOTOS! AND I LOST ALL MY VIDEOS!!!

Promised myself I'll treat Whitiee nicer than Whitie, like no scratches, stains or whatsoever. Like brand new! Erm, a few scratches already on the base. Damnnn. So today dragged mum take me to sim lim square get the plastic shell. 1st store sold it for $88. Only had transparent and black. I was quite bent on blue. Bargained till $70. But when you're at places like sim lim, you shldn't plunge into buying things...walk a few rounds 1st...

Then walked into another mac shop. TADAH!!! Price tag labelled $69, but the guy told me it's $49. Shiok only!! See no more! Just nice, left the last blue one. No comments about the pink one, it looked too...ermmmmm....EEW.

Today's the 1st week anni of xq being laptop-less. HATESSSSS!!! =( getting me all depressed and paranoid...and insecure..and...you get the idea..

Like something's amiss! bag too light, hands too empty, heart and mind's empty too. erm not really la, keep thinking of nle edit all day long...like what time i can pia there...free time only fly there...ONLY TO FIND IT BEING USED BY CHS PPLE! RAHHHH!!! but fun ah, I kinda like editing short films. wahhaha! sense of achievement after you counteract the &*%&$& rushes in the provided footages..

No life already! Like evryday in school till 9pm all over again. And there's audio proj due on fri too. NO LAPTOP DO WHAT AUDIO EDIT!?!?! protools only! =(

Really missing my friends outside poly alot! =( Like compelling need/want to meet them, but how to meet people when I leave school at 9pm?! Ahhhhhhhhh this feeling's eating me up!

Today alot things happened ah! Today's tuesday, not wednesday. Too sleepy, think fuel's running real low of late. Shall sleep like now? bloggin is so inconvenienced without my lappie around.

When I'm depressed I eat alot. (And grow fatter. hahaaha like real)Spent almost 10 bucks just on food today. Like 2 cans of milo, 2 cans of 100 plus, 1 barley, 1 bowl of yong tau foo, 1 plate of chicken rice, 1 pack of frozz and an icecream. Oh wait, that sounded more than 10 bucks. =(

Don't know, just want my hols here quick. Don't like this feeling. And I've been having dizzy spells in school quite often lately. At home also. So if xq goes all quiet, I'm fine, just feeling sian diao and unwell. AND MY LEFT EYE GOT INFECTION! But I get dizzy from wearing my specs too long. Like headache too.

And my hp aka whitie the 2nd is spoilt beyond redemption. Pls try calling few more times if xq's phone cant get thru. COS IT HANGS AND OFFS ON ITS OWN THE MOMENT IT VIBRATES! and if i dun reply smses..it's not that i'm dao...IT'S JUST THAT IT OFFS ON ITS OWN WHEN IM ALMOST COMPLETING MY SMS DRAFT...THEN I HAVE TO ON THE PHONE AND RETYPE THE SMS AGAIN..and it'd happen for another 4, 5 times b4 i really do give up. And ignore the sms.

Everything's irritating the hell out of me. =( Or maybe I'm angsty and lost all my patience and tolerance.

Like it chooses specific times to spoil, every end sem it'd spoil...just when I'll need it most badly. Thanks ah, so glad you're gonna be replaced! But then again, sentimental xq's gonna miss seeing whitie around. New set will come on monday or tues! Meanwhile, I'll be laptop-less for the next 3, 4 days.

Promised to take me to repair centre, but ended up taking me to his workplace. Had to wait for him to complete his assignment from 10am to 2pm. GOODNESS!!! so xq went to heartland mall (2 bus stops away) to self-entertain. Shopped there, and gained instant relief. But erm, sighhh no money to buy. wahaha! then sat at kfc for 2 hours reading my Alain Resnais book and imagine myself typing the report.

JJ taught xq how to "KAOBEI" (his fav word lol) to the repair centre tmr, felvin volunteered his lappie, mary wanted to lend me hers too...and sounded really worried over the phone! phone buddy said "take cab to my house to do!" and volunteered his innocent bro's lappie. haha tskk thanks for all the offers man, but paiseh only!

so it's been proven that xq's been a happyyyy girl of late, but whitie's the ONLY source of my misery! and mood swings. haha! Erm, and occasional school stuffs too. I HATE YOU WHITIE, WHY YOU ALWAYS SCREW MY SCHEDULES UP!! at crucial points somemore. RAHHHHHHH. I demand a new macbook from diversitec! It's the 4th time whitie's spoilt. Since Mid april 2006.

Yes yes, I did redeem whitie back from the repair centre yesterday (monday). It's tuesday still, xq haven sleep. And today, it's spoilt again. Guess it was never exactly cured of it's ailment despite me leaving whitie there for 3 weeks? Hard disk replaced cos hard disk error, but sorry, error still persists. Like last night it hanged at least 5 times. Despite me not doing anything intense.

Today worse! before lecture, turned it on....AND IT COULDN'T EVEN BE BOOTED! rahhhh. Roger nice only, helped me to configure, but no use. Thanks ah technician. Called diversitec still cannot. Only way was to reformat and re install everything. So roger, our mac technician aka classmate, helped me to back up stuffs and passed me his microsoft office package.

Took me ages to re-install, heng got JJ's msn guide. lol. Waited till I fell aslp only, 1st time I did all that myself. Not bad ah! Then it worked! But wasted few hours, my precious hours!! To think I'd wanted to complete half my report today. And erm, barely started. Nvm tmr 12pm end sch, thurs 3pm class. Shall pia all the way tmr. Pardon xq for going home early these days. Can work better at home, in particular, my kitchen. Where all the food is. haha munch non-stop to keep myself going.

Quite scared about this report, forgot citations too! eeks. Nvm. PIAAAA! xq can do it! =) Had a "pact" with two people yest! Calvin and phone buddy! Gotta be disciplined!

Okay I've just been convinced to redeem whitie back from the repair centre! it's been away from me since forever! pageant preview 2 that wednesday, what date ar? *refers*

27th June! like 3 weeks ago. I miss whitie after all.

Lam sister wanna repair his tmr, same prob as mine. But he doesnt know how to get there, so I shall go there with him. No more photobooth! (the photo taking software) and no more FRETS ON FIRE! wahahhaa this game fsv pple's crazy over for now. Puzzle fighter was once upon a time! Frets on fire can only be played on intel-based lappies! whitie's nothing of that sort. Just good 'ol ibook g4. Only thing whitie beats loan lappie hands down...is its speed.. haha 1GB ram, compared to the &%^&^ 512MB ram.

Open microsoft words or powerpoint also can lag. I HATE IT! took me hours to do simple collages. Cos with every click, it lags like mad. Here's the collages I did for I & E presentation tmr! nothing fancy, cos the laggy-ness made me sian diao.









heh heh, I LOVEEE MY I & E GRP MEMBERS! this is like the 1st time I have people from fsv (close friends somemore) in my interdisciplinary module grp! every sem with weird people only, and end up doing 5 people's work all by myself. &^^*&%&^!! And this time round, fun only! like there's singwei and lians! pity no joanna and xxl darling in the grp, else it'd be most fun! And there's eliza and yanshan, 2 really nice and fun pharmacy girls! Never been this close to people I've known through project groups. They usually vanish right after presentation. Ahh well, we shall see.

WOOHOO!! byebye I & E! After tmr, mondays are officially free days! heh, but then again, past mondays like kinda empty eh! no class also. What a boliao module this has been! But had fun! =)

Tues was lecture day. Damn tiring day cos had to transition from hols mode to school mode. 8am film hist lect. scared late only. Lucky caleb's dad gave me, jerry and lam a lift. Thanks ar si boy!

Film history lecture was very nice, I liked the film screened. "Peeping Tom". haha but I clever only, guessed alot and got them all right. Think one of the few times I never fall asleep during the screening. 8 and the half Miles, Citizen Kane and Peeping Tom. The rest I did fall asleep at one point or other. Or whole show? wahahhaa. OOPS.

Then felt totally sian after school and went library chill with toufy and xxl and lian. Toufy was doing film history. Hmm we ended up at library's cafe, eating our fav cup noodles and hot dog bread. Then caleb and jo joined in. Then bored xq received a shocking an unexpected sms from phone buddy. He had the "urge" to watch "Hula Girls" at cathay dhoby. Only confirmed 2 phonecalls later. Cos his "urge" came and went...and came back. HAHA IDIOT ONLY! ^$%$&$!!!

740pm show, but xq left school at only 7pm. late like mad only. Like 20mins. Asked him enter the theatre 1st, sorry ehhh! Movie was not bad, had the heartwarming feeling at certain points of the show. You know, the "hair-stand" feeling, positive ones. Not chilly ones, like in horror flicks. Japanese show, haha so quite fun ah, like I could actually understand some parts without reference to subtitles.

heh, couldn't help takin a pic of the billboard after the show. Had wanted to take a photo with it with phone buddy, wahaha but like quite spastic. Will probably get me killed.



Then we went for supper at weijing's fav rochor beancurd @ Kovan. WIll get reminded of her when I'm there. Siao eh! Thanks for the movie and supper treat man. Haha!

Wednesday no audio class, cos lionel's sick. But went to school nonetheless. Ohh wait, sent whitie for repair at diversitec. Nicee dad sent me there. And diversitec loaned me my dream lappie! MacBook Intel. Wahaha damn shiok! Hope they don't return me whitie the ibook anymore. BETTER STILL, replace the entire lappie! In my dreams maybe. Nicee, they haven't called me. Been 5 days! Then xq had a hard time backing up her stuffs, esp the 4000 odd photos. HAHA!! lucky there's felvin's external. Thanks rudeee boy! (AND I DIDN'T DISAPPEAR WITH UR EXTERNAL!! just that i don't see you in school..and yes I hate using my spoilt hp!)

Ohh and I got lost whilst trying to get to braddell mrt from the flatted factories (near SPH). Walked for like 30mins under the hot sun, changing directions, with my heavy bag cos put lappie in it. Gave up and asked around, but no one knew where! weird only. Lucky thought of singvei, cos SPH. Thanks uncle. haha his directions very detailed..good memory only!

Went school discuss audio "3 feet apart" project. Then digitised our cam and lights #2 shots. WHich took eons cos alot of ^&$%& things happened. Helped calvin & singvei's grp be voice talent after that at Blue Room. HAHAHA EMBARRASSING ONLY!!! cos in "3 feet Apart" (Oak 3 animation)..the female character has to do...erm...alottt of weird noises..like labour pains, and... haha! go watch it yourself. sw and calvin free entertainment over at control room only! But quite fun ahh. Can be voice talent for my own proj on wednesday. LOL wth.

Quite fun to be talent, when the crew u're working with nicee, and u feel comfortable with. Never tried acting with lines. WAHAHA!!! scary only. Should be fun though.

OHH AND CALVIN JUS REMINDED ME THAT...he and jj scared xq to tears. haha! xq has weak heart, in case you haven't realised. Like JJ kinda scared me to tears several times already!! ^$%#$#!!!! When xq's startled, reflex=tears "download" (haha lam's terminology).

calvin (very innocently): "xq! jus now film hist how come you nv go? combined class leh! 3 classes together."

xq: "huh got meh? dun bluff leh. No one say anything."

calvin: "melanie got email us! your class alot pple nv come."

xq (kan cheong cos one more absence=debarment): "No what! lam (from the other class) was still at home when lesson started...you all bluff la.."

sw (best convincing act award): "I swear lam was there!"

*sw bends down in control room, i was in recording studio so can't see him. Apparently, he was laughing away. IDIOTTT.

then jj and calvin took turns to convince xq that she really did miss the lesson.

Then went NLE room with calvin and sw to digitise calvin's cam and lights shots. but sw hen tired and sick, so he dozed off in no time. Haha, whilst talking to me somemore! So xq can't help but...to whip out camerie..Haha! he's always my victim when sound asleep. I'm gonna get killed for this!

Thursday cam and lights presentation. Went for "Kallang Wave" screening after class with jj and jerry. Haha, lucky JJ didn't pay 9 bucks to watch it the other time. Now free only. Was interesting to hear about their filming process etc. But I hen lei, so kinda fell aslp at several points. tskkk. Soccer documentary, hard to garner xq's attention la. Went KAP macs for dinner adter that. 2 nights in a row...KILL ME.

Fri after school, went hougang with qam, jj and jerry. Cos jj wanted to borrow lam's handycam for filming (but forgot that he could have gotten me or jerry to get it from lam! WAHAHHA!) Jerry went home to bathe, whilst the rest of us went for dinner. The chicken chop not bad ahhh.

But the company was nice, and eeksss we all felt like going overseas!!! WANNA FLYYYY!! dun care, gotta go somewhere this hols. Counting down, there's 6 more weeks of hell.
